I was raised in a remote village in Cherangany, Trans Nzoia County. My father was a cattle herder, and education was not seen as important. I used to study late at night with a kerosene lamp and eventually became the first teacher in my family.

I love storytelling and teaching geography and history because it helps my students understand their culture and values.

The school lacks maps, charts and some geography textbooks and this hinders learners from properly visualizing what they have learned.

With help, I hope to get textbooks and learning charts, as well as start a debate club to boost confidence in my pupils.
