BACKGROUND & CALLING
I come from Bungoma County, just a short distance from Kitale. Growing up, many girls in my village left school early, but I was motivated by one female teacher who pushed me to continue my education and become set apart from the rest.
PASSION & TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I teach English and Swahili Literature. My joy is in seeing girls in my class believe in themselves and dream beyond early marriage or housework.
CHALLENGES & NEEDS
One of the greatest challenges I face as a teacher is seeing many of my pupils come to school without proper uniforms. Some families in our community struggle to afford even the most basic clothing, so children often attend classes in worn-out or torn clothes. This affects their confidence and sometimes leads to absenteeism, as a few feel ashamed to come to school dressed differently from others.
DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE
With sponsorship, I hope to start a small library with storybooks, textbooks and encyclopedias to improve reading culture at the school.
